Greenwich's 'Sistine Chapel': 3,700 square metres of baroque ceiling and walls by James Thornhill in the Old Royal Naval College, restored in 2019. Come for the room, neck-craning included.

When the lift is out of order there is no step-free way in: 16 steps up to the Main Vestibule and 7 more to the Upper Hall. Check the access page before you go.
